From the Rivet and Hide website: “The Kalamazoo sashiko shirt bridges the gap between shirt and jacket with ease. Neatly tailored with a flattering cut through the body, the 18oz sashiko fabric is the result of 3 ‘fabric scientists’ collaborating under 9L guidance to create this utterly next level weave. In Japan there are only a couple of factories that make a traditional Sashiko fabric.  It requires specific tension settings of the loom and different levels of thread on the bobbins to create the perfect amount of irregularity and texture. The Sashiko then goes through a traditional green-cast aizome (dyeing process). 100% cotton traditional and custom woven Sashiko. YKK “sunburst” snap closures. 2 chest pockets. Made in Japan.”
